1 Inverter capacity

Start from what you want to keep running, not from the panel. The 3 kW system is the entry point: one 120 V leg, enough for lighting, internet, a fridge, a water pump and cameras. The 8 and 12 kW split-phase systems cover both legs, which is what full-house backup including A/C normally needs. Starting loads matter as much as running watts — a pool pump or a compressor draws several times its rated wattage for the first moment, which is why the load audit exists.

Your main breaker is a cross-check on that choice, not the sizing method: whatever you pick should stay within what your service can deliver. Roughly, amps × 120 V gives one leg and amps × 240 V the whole house, so a two-pole 30 A main is about 3.6 kW per leg, 7.2 kW total. Not sure what yours is rated? Send us a photo of the master breaker — here it's usually right under or beside the CFE meter at the service entrance, not inside the house.

Not included: electrical panel upgrades or replacement, long cable runs, three-phase service, structural or civil work, and any permits or condominium/HOA approvals your building requires. Where solar is added, interconnection with CFE may need its own approval. We tell you about any of these on the site visit rather than in the invoice.
